Use these printable, free flash cards to teach your child or students about a wide range of topics.
They are a quick and easy way to get your hands on a valuable teaching tool and can be used along with the lessons you find here to break up the monotony of worksheets.
The more ways you can introduce your child to the same material, the better the chances of remembering important concepts.
Some children learn better through written material like worksheets, while others are more visual and prefer flashcards. For those students, the DIY flashcards below should be a tremendous help.

There are multiple sets of cards you can make covering many early learning topics like shapes, numbers, emotions, and colors.

Making the cards is fairly simple. First you need to print out one of the sets above. If possible, use higher-quality, thicker printing paper. If your printer will accept card stock use it.
Once the flashcards are printed out, cut them out long-ways (don't cut down the middle of the sheet) so that you can fold them over to create a front and a back.
There are a couple of ways that you can do this. If you want to glue the front and back together, I would recommend using a glue stick or a very small amount of glue.
You don't want the glue to soak through the paper. This won't be a problem if you use high-quality, resume-type sheets.
You could also tape the front/back together with some clear tape along the edges. This will help to keep the corners and sides from getting bent or ripped.
If you have a laminate machine, even better. Use it.
If you just used standard paper to print out the flashcards, you may have to slip some card stock between the front and back so there is no image bleed-through.
Now that you've made your flashcards, try using them alongside these worksheets:
